Police continue search for Kan. man in weekend shooting

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting and searching for a suspect.

Just after 11a.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting at a home in the2900 Block of East Timberlane in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Upon arrival, officers located a 53-year-old man who had a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to Davidson.

Investigators learned that there was a disturbance inside the home between the 53-year-old victim, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old suspect.

The suspect and his girlfriend left the residence and returned a short time later. There was another disturbance involving the three and the 21-year-old pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The suspect and his girlfriend then fled in a green Kia Sportage, according to Davidson.

Police are working to locate the suspect and want to speak to him and the girlfriend who is the victim's neice.
