Just before 9 a.m. Thursday, police filed a report for aggravated false impersonation in the 2000 block of Plymouth Road in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department Activity Report.
A 60-year-old man reported an unknown suspect scammed him out of $3,200 by impersonating a law enforcement officer on the phone.
The RCPD reminded residents, "If you receive a call from 'Police' and you have ANY doubts about what they're saying: hang up and call RCPD (785) 537-2112."
