Hays USD 489 interim director of finance Keith Hall will be leaving the district on June 30 to take a position as high school principal and superintendent in the Thunder Ridge school district at Kensington.
Hall took over the interim role in Hays in January 2019. He applied for the role of superintendent in Hays upon the resignation of John Thissen. Ron Wilson was hired to assume that role.
Hall thanked the school board and district at Monday's school board meeting.
"The timing of this has been exceptional for me and my family, coming in here in January like that," Hall said. "It has been terrific. I cannot say enough good things about this district. ... I just want to get back into an environment I know and a neighborhood I know."
A search is underway to fill Hall's position.
