Kansas City — One person died in an accident during the celebration of the Chiefs Super Bowl victory.
Just before 9:30p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 9800 Block of Richmond in Kansas City, Missouri to assist EMS with a fireworks accident, according to a media release.
Police learned the victim was attempting to light commercial-grade fireworks in an improvised mortar when one exploded.
The man suffered a catastrophic head injury. EMS transported him to an area hospital where he died. Name of the victim has not been released.
