Sheriff identifies victim in fatal Kan. home explosion, fire

MARSHALL COUNTY  — Authorities are still working to determine the cause of a fatal home explosion and fire in Marshall County and have identified the victim.

First responders found the body of 83-year-old  Don McLaughlinn of Vermillion, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 7a.m. January 24, fire crews responded house in Vermillion and  they found it fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control about three hours later. A search of the burned-out home then led to discovery of the McLaughlinn's body.

Authorities also have not released details on the cause of death.
