Kansas man admits driving getaway car in series of robberies

WICHITA, KAN. – A Kansas man admitted driving the getaway car in a series of commercial robberies, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.

Shaiquille Harris, 26, Wichita, Kan., pleaded guilty this week to four counts of robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. In his plea, Harris admitted participating in robberies at the following stores: Kwik Shop, 710 W. 29th,  Kwik Shop, 3959 S. Hydraulic, Kwik Shop, 3601 E. 47th South and the QuikTrip, 2821 E. 31st South, all in Wichita. 

Harris admitted that in each case he drove and a co-defendant entered the store to commit the robbery.

Co-defendant Brelen VonFange, 28, Wichita, Kan., is awaiting trial.

Sentencing for Harris is set for April 13. He could face up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on each robbery count and up to 10 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the firearm charge.
