The Hays school board will discuss its technology replacement plan during a work session at 6:30 tonight at Lincoln Elementary School.
USD 489 began its one-to-one technology rotation policy in the 2015-16 year. Devices are on a three- to six-year replacement schedule depending on student grade level and whether the devices are for staff or students.
This fall Hays Middle School students received new computers. Next year the schedule calls for replacement of devices for grades three through five and for Hays High School staff.

The district has a technology committee that researches what devices will best meet the needs of students and staff members.

Walking path
The board will also hear a report from Toby Dougherty, Hays city manager, about a proposed 1.2 mile multi-use path that will run between the Hays Recreation Center and HaysMed.
The path includes a route that will cross the grass area on the north side of USD 489 property at Hays High School.

While at Lincoln, the board will take a tour of the building.
