Police: Mushroom grow operation, meth at former Kan. TV pitchman's home

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a  a former Kansas television personality on numerous charges after a drug bust at his home.

Just before 1p.m. Tuesday, police served a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 200 block of North Summitlawn in Wichita stemming from an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to officer Charley Davidson.

During the search warrant, police  located a pound of methamphetamine, two ounces of heroin, narcotic pills, a mushroom grow operation, drug paraphernalia, and seized two handguns. 

They also arrested 37-year-old Aaron Wirtz of Wichita on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a hallucinogenic with intent to sell, possession of nonnarcotics with intent to sell, unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wirtz served as the TV and radio personality for Super Car Guys brand in Wichita, according to his Linkdin page. 

“The search warrant was conducted in reference to information received on illegal drug sales at the home,” WPD Captain Jeff Allen said.
