FINNEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged kidnapping and have made an arrest.
Just after 3a.m. Sunday, police conducted a traffic stop in Garden City and located a missing 15-year-old girl in the passenger seat, according to Sgt. Lana Urteaga.
Investigators learned that on December 23, the girl had been taken against her will by 18-year-old Cipriano Garcia. On Monday, police located and arrested Garcia. He was being held in the Finney County Jail on requested charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, according to Urteaga. On Tuesday morning, Garcia was no longer in custody.
Sunday's traffic stop was not related to the the alleged kidnapping.
