Emmy Award-winning Osborne Co. native dies at 87

Osborne County native Phil Hahn — who won an Emmy as the head writer for the series Rowan and Martin's Laugh In — died Sunday, according to a report from the Hollywood Reporter.


Hahn was born in 1932 in the unincorporated Osborne County community of Bloomington and was a 1950 graduate of Osborne High School and a 1954 graduate of the University of Kansas.


His career ranged from publishing articles and cartoons in Playboy and Esquire magazines to writing lines for comedy legends including Bob Hope, Don Knotts, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Jack Lemmon, Cher and Burt Reynolds.


During his career, he earned five Emmy nominations for writing.


He was residing in Coos Bay, Ore.
