NW Kan. woman, 3 others hospitalized after head-on crash

NORTON COUNTY— One person was injured in an accident just after 1 p.m. Thursday in Norton County.


The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Ram 1500 driven by Steven Tran, Lincoln, NE., was westbound on Kansas 383 three miles east of the Kansas 60 Junction when it hit a patch of slush.


The pickup traveled left of center and struck a 2016 Ford Focus driven by Amber N. Durke, 35, Aurora, CO., head-on. EMS transported Tran a passenger in the Ram Sierra Nicole Hendrickson, 20, Oberlin, Durke, and a passenger in the Ford Anthony R. Durke, 61, Fountain, CO., to the hospital in Norton.


All four were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
