SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting and attempted robbery and asking  the public for help to locate a suspect.

On January 22, police responded to the Days Inn, 1510 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka on a report of an attempted robbery and shooting, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

The victim, a 51-year-old Topeka man sustained non-life threatening injuries in the incident. The persons involved are known to one another.

Police are attempting to locate Lasharra L. Riley, 30 of Topeka as a person of interest in this investigation.  She is described as 6-foot-2 and weighs, approximately 185 pounds, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Anyone with information about Riley’s location, including past sightings is asked to call police.
