JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged drug and ID theft crimes.

Just after 8a.m. Sunday, a sheriff's deputy observed a Chevy Malibu belonging to a wanted fugitive and conducted a traffic stop on 150th Road west of Mayetta, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The woman identified as Jessica Marie Moreno, 41, of Emporia, was taken into custody on a Jackson County District Court for alleged theft.

A police service K-9 alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics. Deputies seized narcotics and drug paraphernalia  from the vehicle. In addition, various driver’s licenses, social security cards, passport, credit cards and various other identification cards were allegedly found in her possession.

Some of the IDs had been reported stolen in burglaries in Overland Park.
