PLATTE COUNTY—One person died in a fire early Tuesday in Platte County.
Just before 7a.m. crews responded to a double-wide mobile home in the 5900 Block of Northwest 48th Street, according to Chris Denney, Division Chief with Southern Platte Fire Protection District.
As they arrived fire crews observed the mobile home approximately 75 percent involved in flames. First responders were told an elderly person was still inside. Firefighters entered the bedroom and did not find the victim. After a search, firefighters found the deceased victim elsewhere in residence, according Denney.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause along with an assist from the Northland fire investigation team. Officials have not released the identity or gender of the victim.
