DEA helps arrest Kansas man accused of selling illegal drugs

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement including the Drug Enforcement Administration are investigating a suspect for multiple allegations after a drug bust in northeast Kansas.

On September 16, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit conducted multiple narcotics related search warrants in the 400 block of SW Western Avenue and the 1200 block of SW Van Buren Street, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

During the investigation, illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, three firearms and ammunition were located.

Christopher D. Hayes, 42, of Topeka was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Distribute opiate/opium/narcotic/certain stimulant, Distribute/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia, Use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia, Unlawful to acquire proceeds from drug transactionm Possession of marijuana

The Topeka Police Department (TPD) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assisted with these search warrants.
