Sheriff IDs Kansas man wounded in officer-shooting in Missouri

PLATTE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an officer involved shooting which occurred just before 2a.m. Thursday on MO Highway 45 Spur near Stilling’s Road in rural Platte County.

The shooting occurred at the end of a vehicle pursuit involving members of the Leavenworth, Kansas Police Department, and a domestic violence suspect identified as 25-year-old Jonathan Heath-Taylor of Leavenworth, Kansas, according to Captain Jeffrey Shanks.

EMS transported Heath-Taylor from the scene to an area hospital where he remained in critical condition Thursday night.

No officers were injured at the scene.
