FINNEY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 8:30p.m. Monday in Finney County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Anthony J Abete, 21, Garden City, was eastbound on Burnside Drive at U.S. 83. The car crossed left of center and the driver corrected back to the eastbound lane. The vehicle traveled back left of center and started to slide. It traveled off the roadway to the left and rolled.
EMS transported Abete and a passenger Adan Gonzalez, 19, Garden City to St. Catherine Hospital where Abete died. They were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
