News Release Kearney Police Department
On Monday, March 28 at approximately 2:18 p.m.
KPD Officers stopped a 2021 Jeep on I-80 near mile marker 274 for following too closely.
Upon contact with the four adult occupants of the vehicle, officers noticed suspicious activity and an open alcohol container inside the vehicle.
Officers established probable cause to search the vehicle and several duffle bags containing 64lbs of marijuana and THC products were located in the vehicle.
All four occupants of the vehicle, Nicolas Esparaza, Rudy Vibbert, Tania Perez and Courtney Svara all from Wisconsin, were arrested and lodged at Buffalo County Jail for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp.
Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office assisted during the investigation as well.
