SEDGWICK COUNTY—Two people including a Wichita police officer were injured in an accident during a police chase just before 2a.m. Thursday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford Fusion driven by Alex Julian Acevedo, 22, Garden City, was fleeing from law enforcement eastbound at the Intersection of Kincaid and Washington in Wichita. Acevedo was in a stolen vehicle, according to officer Trevor Macey.

The driver failed to stop at the intersection. The stolen Ford struck a northbound Wichita Police Department Dodge Charger and it ultimately struck a house in the 1000 Block of East Kinkaid, according to Macey.

Acevedo attempted to flee the scene but officers caught him. EMS transported Acevedo to local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The officer was also treated at a local hospital and later released.   There were no other injuries, according to Macey.
