ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect after an altercation between two women in a store parking lot.
Just before 1p.m. September 24, police investigated a disturbance that had occurred in the Walmart parking lot in the 1900 block U.S.73 Highway in the city of Atchson, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
A 72-year-old woman reported being threatened, struck and pulled to the ground by a person known to her.
The 78 year old suspect had left the scene before officers arrived. At 7p.m. police took 78-year-old Paula Phillips into custody at her residence. She remains jailed on requested charges that includes criminal threat and battery.
