
RENO COUNTY — A man who shot at police during a five-hour standoff was sentenced Thursday in Reno County District Court. District Judge Joseph L. McCarville sentenced 22-year-old Brenden Jones to just over 54 year in prison.
In June 20 of 2019, police found a man with a gunshot wound to the thigh. Several hours later, police located the suspect identified as Jones, in a house in the 300 block of W. 16th Avenue in Hutchinson where the long standoff began.
After a more than five-hour standoff with police, Jones and officers exchanged gunfire. Jones was wounded.
In March, Jones plead guilty to eight counts of attempted first-degree murder aggravated battery for shooting Foley in addition possession of a firearm by a felon.
