WYANDOTTE COUNTY—Law enforcement continue their search for a suspect in a Kansas bank robbery.
Just after 9:30a.m. on Jan. 31, a suspect described as a man approximately 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a neon mask and sunglasses entered the U.S. Bank, 10959 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a statement from the FBI. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money.
He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Approximately ten minutes before the robbery, police in Kansas City, Kansas received an anonymous call reporting a man with a gun at an elementary school just east of the bank. The schools were briefly placed on lockdown. Officers determined there was no threat.
