Police: Suspects used mobile pay app on phone to commit theft

ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple charges after an arrest.

On June 9, St. Joseph Police arrested 25-year-old Skylar D. Coady of St. Joseph on an Atchison District Court warrant charging her with aggravated robbery and theft, according to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.

She was taken to the Buchanan County Missouri jail and transported to the Atchison County jail this week.

Coady is the second person charged with aggravated robbery by using force to take a cellphone from a 38-year-old male victim on May 27th in the 1300 block South 8th and subsequently using a mobile pay app on the phone to commit theft.

On June 8, police arrested 33-year-old Christopher B. Heston of Atchison in the 400 block Commercial on a District Court warrant charging him with theft and aggravated robbery, according to Wilson.

Heston is charged with aggravated robbery by using force to take a cellphone from a 38-year-old male victim on May 27th in the 1300 block South 8th and subsequently using a mobile pay app on the phone to commit theft.

He is also charged in a separate warrant for the theft of a cellphone from a 25-year-old female victim on May 27th in the 100 block River Road.
