RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged accidental shooting in Riley County.
Just after 10p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting in the 7100 block of Anderson Avenue, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
First responders found a 36-year-old woman suffering from ricochet shrapnel wounds to the head and face that occurred while a 39-year-old man she was with was shooting at raccoons.
The woman was transported to Via Christi in Manhattan for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police released no additional details.
