Kansas teen hospitalized after gun accident

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas teen was injured Wednesday in a gun accident.

On Wednesday afternoon, police responded to report of a shooting in the 1100 block of South Dodge in Wichita, according to Wichita Police spokesman Andrew Ford.

First responders found a 17-year-old who sustained non-threatening injuries after accidentally shooting himself in the hand and leg while handling a firearm. He was transported for treatment. Police released no additional details on his condition late Wednesday.
