
CASS COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating alleged animal cruelty.
Just after 3p.m. Thursday, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on Roush Road in rural Pleasant Hill, according to a media release. A Cass County Judge had issued a search warrant for the property.
Sheriff Jeff Weber activated the Disaster Emergency Response Team, as well as the Criminal Apprehension Units to assist in the operation in temperatures near zero.
With assistance from the Harrisonville and Raymore Animal Control Officers, 30 dogs were collected. All animals were seen by veterinarians, who were on scene during the operation, prior to being transported to a local shelter for safekeeping.
The sheriff's office released no additional details and have not reported an arrest.
