Police arrest 2 after Kansas motel parking lot gun fight

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects in connection with a weekend shooting.

Just 12 a.m. Sunday police responded to report of a shooting at a  motel in the 1600 block of South Broadway in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

At the scene, police found 38-year-old Kristopher McFadden at a nearby home with wound to his face.

Investigators learned McFadden and 39-year-old Omar Tejeda-Guzman were in the parking lot of the motel when McFadden allegeldy pointed a gun at Tejeda-Guzman who then fired a handgun at McFadden.

McFadden was treated and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on requested charges of aggravated assault. Tejeda-Guzman was booked for criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  Police also recovered two handguns at the scene.
