KHP, deputies capture wanted suspect in stolen car on I-70

DOUGLAS COUNTY —Sheriff's deputies assisted the Kansas Highway  Patrol Saturday with a vehicle pursuit and taking a suspect into custody after the driver of a suspect stolen vehicle headed west through Douglas County.

Just after 1:30p.m., a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper conducted a tactical-vehicle intervention to the suspects's westbound Honda three miles west of the Lecompton Interchange.

No one was injured. The driver, who was also wanted for assault in Missouri, was traveling a slow speeds through Douglas County. There were no other occupants in the car. 

Douglas County deputies did stop westbound traffic until the driver could be taken into custody and the road could be cleared.  Authorities did not release the nae of the suspect.
