Police: Kansas man fired shots at officers after late night crash

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement arrested a suspect in connection with shooting at officers and a standoff at a home in Topeka.

Just after 5:00 p.m. Thursday police responded to an accident investigation in the area of the Expocentre, 1 Expocentre Drive in Topeka, according to Topeka Police Lt. Jason Schumacher.

During the investigation officers were led to the 1500 Block of SW Shunga Drive where one individual from the accident was located in a residence. While officers were continuing their investigation an individual fired shots from inside a residence. No officers were injured.

Just after 12:30.m. Friday, police took  Marvin L. Park, 57, of Topeka into custody on requested charges of  Aggravated Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer., Criminal Threat, Battery and Duty of Driver to report an Accident.
