Prepare to be spooked. A Haunted Hotel is set to open for the Halloween season in downtown Hays.

The haunted house will be at the former bank buildings at 1108 Main, corner of 12th and Main streets.

It consists of two levels with 5,000 square feet on each level and is not recommended for the faint of heart.

Stephen Brummer is leading the project with 20 years of experience creating haunted properties through CYO, which is also participating.

Megan Pray and Ashley Green are co-creators, and all three have been working tirelessly to get things ready for opening day at 6 p.m. Oct. 15.

General admission is $12.50 for adults and $7.50 for youth 16 and younger.

The Haunted Hotel will be open 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday Oct. 15 and 6 p.m. to midnight Oct. 16-Oct. 17, Oct. 22-24 and Oct. 29-31.

Organizers have partnered with the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority group.

A portion of the funds raised on Oct. 31 will be donated to the Arc for the ARC Park. Platinum Group has agreed to match the funds raised on Halloween night up to $5,000 for the ARC Park.
