Police: $30,000 damage from vandals at Kansas construction site

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating vandalism at a construction site in Topeka.

Just after 7 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of vandalism at the former Slumberland, 1800 SW Wanamaker, in Topeka, according to a media release.  The area is being renovated for a new business.

A preliminary estimate from responding officers indicated around $30,000 in damage.
