McPHERSON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 5:30a.m. Friday in McPherson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by Bentley D. Eckhoff, 20, Hutchinson was southbound on Interstate 135 one mile north of Quivera Road.
The pickup traveled off the roadway to the left and the driver overcorrected. The pickup returned to the road and rolled multiple times coming to rest in the southbound lanes of the Interstate.
A passenger in the pickup identified as Joel Guffey, 19, Hutchinson was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported Eckhoff to Salina Regional Health Center. They were not wearing a seat belts, according to the KHP.
