SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a stolen vehicle was located on SE California Avenue in Topeka.
Just before 3p.m., December 27, deputies with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a stolen black 2020 Chevrolet Trax from the 3000 block of SE Starlight Drive, according to Sheriff Brian Hill.
Shortly before 3:45 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of SE California Avenue and one individual was taken into custody. Michael A. Woodworth, 46, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Theft from motor vehicle; $25,000 < $100,000; Possession of stolen property; $25,000 to $100,000 and Possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant.
Woodworth has previous convictions for Interference with law enforcement by destroying evidence in a felony case and for drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
