Kan. driver accused in deadly hit-and-run that killed woman

SEDGWICK COUNTY— Police investigating a fatal hit-and-run have made an arrest.

According to Sedgwick County booking records, police took 26-year-old Shardea Rose Lawyer into custody and following an interview, booked her in to the Sedgwick Co. jail on requested charges of Felony Hit and Run resulting in Death.

Just before 11:30p.m. May 8, police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 3400 block of west Taft. Kristina Kramer, 38,  passed away as a result of her injuries from being struck. Investigators  asked for the public’s help locating or identifying the vehicle, which was described only as a white SUV with possible front-end damage.

The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office for formal charges.
