JEWELL COUNTY —A fifth-grade student died in an accident just after 7:30a.m. Friday in Jewell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 USD 107-Rock Hills Chevy Suburban driven by Audra Wilburn, 43, Portsmouth, Virginia, was northbound on 250th Road eight and one half miles north of the city of Randall
The SUV entered the east ditch, traveled through the ditch, reentered the roadway and overturned. The SUV came to rest on its top in the west ditch. The fifth grader died. EMS transported Wilburn to the hospital in Mankato for treatment of minor injuries. Four other children in the SUV were not injured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a USD 107-Rock Hills SUV with a driver and 5-students were involved in a rollover crash on Randall Road a mile south of U.S. 36 near Mankato.
The fifth grader died. The KHP reported there were no other injuries.
The KHP Critical Highway Accident Response Team (CHART) responded to assist in diagramming the scene. Check the Post for additional details as they become available.
