SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an armed robbery and have a suspect in custody.
Just after 1:30p.m. June 3, police responded to an armed robbery in the 1100 block of E 47th Street S in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
Upon arrival, the victim, an employee of a local business reported that an unknown suspect came into the store, displayed a black semi-auto handgun, and demanded money from the register and two packs of cigarettes.
The victim said that the suspect came and left in a white early 2000s model quad cab dully pickup.
With little information about the suspect, officers from the East Community Policing unit searched the surrounding area for evidence. The officers followed up on several leads and were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle.
During the investigation, officers located the vehicle at a local business and arrested 34-year-old Michael Galloway without incident. He remains jailed on a requested charge of aggravated robbery
