Kan. deputies catch two women transporting drugs

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspect on 

Just before 4 p.m. July 8, a Sheriff’s Deputy observed a red Ford Focus that turned into an address east of 75 Highway on 134th Road, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The deputy believed the actions of the driver appeared to be suspicious in nature. Deputies contacted the driver and individuals in the vehicle. A Jackson County Sheriff K-9 alerted on the vehicle for the presence of illegal drugs.

The driver, 36-year-old Alisha Dawn Swiger, of Independence, Missouri was arrested for felony contributing to a childs misconduct, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, making false information, criminal trespass, driving while suspended and no insurance.

A passenger, Tanisha Liane Flournoy, 38, of Kansas City, Kansas was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, felony interference with law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hallucinogenic drug. The Hoyt Police Department assisted deputies with the incident.
