SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspicious death in Shawnee County.

Just after 5:30 p.m.&nbsp; Friday, police responded to 901 NE River Rd on a report of a body in the river, according to Lt. Ron Ekis.

Topeka Fire Department personnel were requested to the scene to recover the body. Investigators with the Topeka Police Department and Shawnee County Coroner’s Office were also on scene. The circumstances surrounding this incident are not known. Police have not released the victim's name.
