SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal accident and have identified the victim as 31-year old Robert A. Zimmerman of Osage City.
Just after 3p.m. Monday, police responded the area of the 2000 Block of SW Fairlawn Road for accident involving a van and motorcyclist, according to Lt. Edward Stanley. The motorcyclist identified as Zimmerman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
SW Fairlawn Rd between SW 19th St. and SW 20th street was closed off while officers investigated. The accident remains under investigation, according to Lt. Manuel Munoz.
