Police ID 40-year-old homicide victim found in Kansas home

WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating a deadly shooting in Wyandotte County have identified the victim as 40-year-old James Adam Jackson.

Just after 2:30a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to a shooting in the 1600 block of S. Valley Street, in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas, according to a media release.

First responders discovered Jackson inside a residence, the victim of apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

This incident is under investigation by the KCKPD Major Case Unit.  This is the first homicide reported in Kansas City, Kansas in 2025. There were 22 reported in 2024, according to police.
