Governor Kelly, First Lady meet for lunch in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY—Kansas Governor Laura Kelly joined the First Lady for a bite to eat Tuesday, according to a social media report from Dr. Jill Biden.

The First Lady visited a Kansas City, Kansas, school as part of a tour to emphasize the Biden administration's interest in the Hispanic community. Biden met Tuesday with Hispanic representatives during the visit to El Centro Academy, a dual-language early childhood education program.

After the school meeting, Biden and Governor Kelly met for lunch at Poio Mexican BBQ, 800 South Seventh Street, in KCK.

Biden's visit is part of a series of stops she is making to hear the concerns of the Hispanic Americans during National Hispanic Heritage Month. Kansas 3rd District U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids also participated in the meeting and lunch.
