Sheriff: Passenger in Kan. traffic stop couldn't hide drugs

 JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on drug allegations.

Just after 7:30a.m. Jan. 24, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima near 150th and Q. Road for a traffic infraction, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The deputy located illegal drug contraband on the passenger and inside the vehicle. The passenger, Steven Ralph Barker, 61, of Topeka, was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail.

He was booked into the Jail on requested charges that include possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, transporting an open container and trafficking contraband into a corrections facility.
