PAWNEE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 7p.m. Monday in Pawnee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Kia Sorento driven by Jackie F. Dillard, 71, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, was southbound on U.S. 183 at Kansas 156.
The driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign. An eastbound 1998 Peterbilt semi driven by Nathan Tyler Long, 34, Garden City, T-Boned the SUV.
Dillard and a passenger Donna Lynn Dillard, 69, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Beckwith Mortuary. Long was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
