Teen dead, 2 hospitalized after I-70 truck crash

RILEY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 6a.m. Monday in Riley County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 International Box Truck driven by Isabella L. Carroll, 18, Hackensack, NJ., was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of Deep Creek Road.

The vehicle traveled into the center median several times, rolled and came to rest on its passenger side in the median.

Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. EMS transported passengers Joshua A. Mejias Ramos, 23,  Philadelphia, PA., and Brian Cordero Nunez, 22, Patterson, NJ., to Via Christi in Manhattan. Carrol and the passengers were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
