
SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a Kansas woman on multiple allegations after healthcare professionals discover her infant daughter was possibly exposed to meth.
Just after 8:30a.m. Friday, police, responded to Salina Regional Health Center after an 8-month-old girl arrived at the hospital. Healthcare staff reported to police that the girl had a possible acute methamphetamine overdose.
During the incident, the baby was in the parental custody of 27-year-old Tiara Heitman, according to police. Heitman's family members, who were with her at the time of the incident, felt the baby needed medical attention.
The family members transported both the baby and Heitman to the hospital, according to police. Officers found Heitman in a vehicle in the parking lot of the hospital. She was then taken into custody, and a search warrant was executed. Police found methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Heitman was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of Aggravated Endangerment of a Child and exposing a child to methamphetamine chemicals, Possession of an opiate and marijuana.
The baby is going to fully recover and was released to family members who have custody, according police.
