ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.
Shortly after 10p.m. on Wednesday an officer observed 31-year-old Trevor Kiehl walking in the 900 block Unity Street in Atchison and attempted to take him into custody on a Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in court, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Kiehl ran from officers but following a brief pursuit he was located in the 900 block North 9th Street. He was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Following an investigation he was taken to the County Jail on the failure to appear warrant and requested drug charges, and interference with law enforcement (fleeing from officers). Kiehl has three previous drug conviction and one for interference with law enforcement, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
