SEDGWICK COUNTY—Last week, Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a known felony parole absconder who had an outstanding warrant for battery on a law enforcement officer, according to a social media report from the KHP.
When troopers initiated the stop, the driver fled, prompting a pursuit. A trooper successfully deployed stop sticks, disabling the vehicle.
The suspect then fled on foot but was located a short time later through the coordinated efforts of our Air Support Unit, K9s, and ground units. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The United States Marshals Service and Wichita Police assisted in the arrest. The KHP did not release the suspect's name.
