FORD COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating threats made against Walmart in Dodge City.
At approximately 3p.m. Friday, customer service staff at Walmart, 1905 North 14th Avenue, received a phone call from an anonymous individual making serious threats of violence toward the Dodge City Walmart within a specific timeframe, according to a media release from Dodge City Police.
Officers immediately responded to the situation. Upon arrival, officers learned the individual was still on the phone with customer service staff and took over the call.
During the call, the individual continued to extend the timeframe in which the threats were expected to occur. The officer also noted that the individual appeared to be using a voice changer to disguise their voice. That timeframe passed, but officers remained at the location as a precaution.
The Dodge City Walmart later reopened and will remain under increased patrol.
