HARVEY COUNTY—Police have located the vehicle and driver involved in fatal hit-and-run that occurred Monday morning in Newton, according to a social media report from Newton Police.
The City of Newton identified the victim as 64-year-old Laurie Robinson of Newton. She was killed in the hit-and-run on Southeast 24th Street just east of I-135 in Newton.
Police thanked the public for their vigilance in helping with the search.

HARVEY COUNTY — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Monday morning on Southeast 24th Street just east of Interstate 135 in Newton. The City of Newton identified the victim as 64-year-old Laurie Robinson of Newton.
Police are now searching for a white Honda or Acura with extensive passenger-side damage, based on broken car parts found at the scene.
Anyone with information regarding the crash should contact Newton Police. The driver of the involved vehicle is strongly encouraged to turn themselves in.
The vehicle is believed to come over the 24th Street bridge and struck the woman early Monday morning, knocking her down the embankment. A truck driver passing by reported the body at around 9 a.m.
Police are still working to notify the victim’s family.
