Man will stand trial for smuggling K2 into Kan. prison

 HUTCHINSON— A Kansas man was bound over for trial  Thursday on charges of drug smuggling while an employee at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

Zachary Wood, 22, Newton, also saw two additional charges filed against him in an amended complaint. Wood faces single counts of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of codeine with intent to sell along with the original charges of conspiracy, using a communication device to distribute drugs, drug distribution and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.

Wood is accused of using three women to help smuggle K2 into the prison over a period of two months.

The three women arrested in the case, Ester Davis, Denisha Starns and Stephanie Thindiu all waived their right to a preliminary hearing and were bound over for trial.
